Difference Between Ringlock & Cuplock

Ringlock scaffolding is a relatively new type of scaffolding system, designed with prefabricated components, each manufactured to be installed in a specific location.

Ringlock (K-Ring), like Cuplock (K-Lock) is a type of modular scaffolding designed with speed of installation and ease of adaptation to the forefront.

Brisko Metal Resources currently supplies the Cuplock and Kwikstage systems, with Ringlock, also known as K-Ring, our own accredited equivalent that will soon be available.

What is ringlock scaffolding? (K ring)
Ringlock is becoming the popular system of choice primarily due to its unique ability to handle complex geometries, providing much more flexibility than cuplock or kwikstage scaffolding.
K-Ring our equivalent without Ringlock brand is extremely versatile. It can be installed for a straight, curved or circular configuration for access and support, and also for independent mobile towers.
There are no loose components in the K-Ring system that may be lost or require maintenance. All components are hot dip galvanized with a minimum zinc coating of 85 microns.

Ringlock Scaffolds is a type of low maintenance scaffolding, since the repair and restoration of a fully galvanized system is much less than what is required with painted systems such as Kwikstage.

Ringlock also has the ability to adapt quickly and easily, when necessary.

Ringlock is designed with a single central rosette type connection point that provides the ability to achieve installation angles that other types of system scaffolding cannot.

The components quickly join the center point of the rosette. It presents a 4-way design, with up to 8 different angles possible.

This type of design is what gives Ringlock more flexibility than its previous system: cuplock.
Due to this unique central rosette-type connection point, Ringlock can be installed easily and quickly in complicated construction geometries, without wasting time on tube and accessory scaffolding.

Ringlock K-Ring supplied by Metal Resources complies with BS1139 Part 5, HD1000, OSHA standards.

What is the difference with Cuplock scaffolding?

Cuplock differs from Ringlock due to the design.

Cuplock is designed with a central node cup-type connection point that allows the components to join, locking in place through the cup-type connection.

Cuplock can only provide 4-way angles at the central connection point, while Ringlock has the ability to provide up to 8.

Cuplock (K-Lock) does not have loose parts and with corrosion protection by hot galvanizing according to British standard 729, the minimum thickness of the zinc coating is 85 microns.

Cuplock is another popular type of industrial scaffolding, it is also completely galvanized and requires little maintenance, features prefabricated parts and quick installation.

Cuplock is also a robust system, chosen by many contractors and companies by Kwikstage due to its low maintenance and considered more robust than Kwikstage.
